The paper presents the analysis of a nonlinear parametric
system consisting of a rotor with rectangular cross–section
placed in a rigid self–excited base. The parametric
instability zones have identified on the basis of the method
of expanding into a power series in relation to two
perturbation parameters (one connected with parametric
excitation, the other with friction coefficient). The
influence of the changes of chosen parameters of the system
on the size and instability zones of the first order has
been investigated.
